Window Tint for Union City, CA

8.8 miles from Alvarado-Niles Rd, and nearly all of it is I-880. At that range the real decision is not how to get here — it is whether you sit through the install or hand us the keys and get your afternoon back.

One Freeway. No Detours.

Get on I-880 north at Alvarado-Niles Rd and stay there. That is the entire route. Nothing to memorize, no stringing together of arterials, no crawl past Union Landing — you leave the freeway at the Hayward end, follow Industrial Boulevard onto Depot Road, and turn into the warehouse grid that sits behind it. Connecticut St is one of those streets, and we are Suite 6.

Because it is freeway almost the whole run, the clock moves with traffic rather than mileage. Fifteen minutes is the honest number away from the peaks, and our first slot of the day is 11:00 AM — after the morning northbound push has thinned out.

  • 8.8 miles door to door — roughly 15 minutes
  • I-880 north from Alvarado-Niles Rd, freeway nearly the whole way
  • Union City and the shop are both in Alameda County
  • Suite 6, 23839 Connecticut St, Hayward, CA 94545
Waiting Versus Dropping Off

Fifteen Minutes Each Way Changes The Math.

Tinting a full vehicle is a three-to-four-hour job, and from nine miles out the two ways of spending those hours are not close. Wait, and it costs you one round trip plus most of an afternoon on a chair in an industrial park. Drop the car, and it costs you a second round trip instead — about an hour on the road across both visits — while the three or four hours in between stay yours.

01

Price It First

Send us the car — year, make, model — and how dark you are thinking. Your number comes back before you commit to the drive north.

02

Hand Over Keys

Come up I-880, pull into the row on Connecticut St, confirm carbon or ceramic. A few minutes at the counter and you are back out the door.

03

Cut And Fit

Every pane is stripped and cleaned, film cut to your exact glass and squeegeed down. No part of the prep gets rushed to save an hour.

04

Second Trip Up

Fifteen minutes back up the freeway. We go over the glass together in daylight, and you leave knowing how to treat the film while it cures.

The easiest version is a second driver following you up and taking you home again. Failing that, plan the day around one errand this side of the county line. Weekday hours are 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, so a car handed over around noon is done with room to spare. Saturday closes at 5:00 PM with doors from 10:00 AM, so that day is a tighter fit — arrive early. Sunday we are closed.

What A Union City Car Pays

Published Price. No Mileage Line.

There is no out-of-town rate and nothing added for the 8.8 miles — you are in the same county we are. Both films block 99% of the UV; heat is what you are actually choosing between.

Parked At Eight.
Still There At Six.

A car left in an open lot all working day takes the whole arc of the sun across its dash and seats. Film cannot move the car; it cuts what comes through the glass — 99% of the UV either way, 88% of the heat with ceramic.

Questions From Up The 880

Asked by Union City Drivers

8.8 miles, about 15 minutes. You get on I-880 north at Alvarado-Niles Rd and stay on it to the Hayward end, where the exit drops you onto Industrial Boulevard and then Depot Road. Connecticut Street hangs off Depot, so the surface-street part is short at both ends.

From Union City, leave it. A full vehicle is three to four hours of work. Dropping off means a second round trip — about an hour on the road all told against thirty minutes if you wait — but it buys back the middle of the day. Waiting is fine when there is no second driver to run you home.

Monday through Friday we take cars from 11:00 AM and lock up at 7:30 PM, so 11:00 AM is the earliest handover and anything before 7:30 PM works for pickup. Saturday we open at 10:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM, seven hours for a job that takes three to four, so a Saturday car has to arrive early. Sunday we are closed.

No. How dark your front side windows are allowed to be, and how much film may sit at the top of the windshield, are set by California state law rather than by a city or a county. The same limits follow the car through Union City, Hayward and everywhere else you drive it. We go through them with you before anything gets cut.

Working out a shade? Start with the California window tint laws, then weigh carbon against ceramic on the window tint service page. Driving in from somewhere else in the East Bay? The areas we serve page lists every route and drive time.
